A film festival in Beijing aims to counter a bias in the movie industry that values pretty, clothes-discarding and man-seeking female characters over more nuanced roles

he China Women's Film Festival is highlighting gender inequality in the film industry by featuring more than 30 Chinese and international films about women's rights, women's achievements and gay women, which will be shown in over 10 cities around the nation.
