The U.S. charges a Chinese executive with violating sanctions against North Korean companies that help Pyongyang develop nuclear weapons

a Xiaohong, the owner of Dandong Hongxiang Industrial Development Company, and her colleagues worked with a North Korean bank to create shell companies to disguise commerce between North Korea and China, the United States Department of Justice said. The firm's exports to North Korea included aluminum oxide, a material that can be used in the production of nuclear weapons, according to an American and South Korean report. The Chinese police are also investigating the company.
