Opinion: Trump and China: America’s most important economic relationship just got very complicated
The election of Donald Trump adds tension to an already complex U.S.-China relationship marked by an increasing “interdependence in terms of trade, investment, tourism, education and entertainment,” The Wall Street Journal reports. The author declares that the U.S.-led Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is “toast,” a trade war may begin, and a decline in the U.S. dollar may boost the status of the yuan. In short, the U.S.-China relationship will be “at the center” of a changed world for companies and investors.
