Panda nannies accused of abusing cubs

A video appeared on Chinese social media in July showing three panda nannies throwing their cubs to the ground and violently dragging them.

The abusive nannies were filmed at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base in Chengdu, the global hub of panda breeding.

The video spread quickly on Chinese social media.

Some people called the nannies “brutal.”

Others were more sympathetic, saying that nannies are often beaten and scratched when dealing with panda bears.

The three nannies apologized for their behavior and promised to treat pandas better.
