SupChina is a for-profit company. However, we operate a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The Serica Initiative.
The Serica Initiative is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in 2018 so that SupChina could partner with private and corporate foundations on China-related media and communications issues.
We formed The Serica Initiative so that we could partner with private and corporate foundations to produce content series, host events, and undertake initiatives that are valuable to the world yet are difficult to fundraise for on a for-profit basis. Concrete examples include content series on U.S.-China climate change collaboration and U.S.-China cross-border corporate philanthropy that SupChina has produced in recent years.
In 2020, The Serica Initiative will be launching a monthly white paper / newsletter dedicated to mapping and understanding the state of affairs in the U.S.-China philanthropic world.
To pre-sign up for that newsletter and be kept in the loop on any and all China-related non-profit world developments, email josephine@supchina.com.
